During a very elegant affair at the Casino Maltese in Valletta, our firm was awarded the Special Commendation for the Quality Architecture for our villa project, At The Borderline.

This name came about due to the dual elements this project found itself in. The site is sandwiched  in between beautiful vernacular buildings and high end contemporary villas. Due to the narrowness of the site, the space available for building was restricted and yet the brief demanded all the amenities of luxury residence. Aperture size fluctuates from cautious perforations in solid elevations to entire glazed walls. The property’s front façade is mostly solid, yet the back is predominantly open, once again meeting the client’s brief of providing as much openness and natural light as possible and ensuring that the pool area feel like an extension of the interior. The materials inside and out the villa remain a consistent palette of travertine and off shutter concrete contrasted by dark black accents. Click here to navigate to the full project post.
